The Institute for Cross-Disciplinary and Complex Systems (join center UIB-CSIC) has studied the relationship between the increase in maritime traffic in the Arctic Ocean and the decrease of the ice in the same area. It is the first study on this realm with real data, since so far only existed forecasting models. Scientific Reports publishes the study.
