Dr. Ernesto Estrada, Research Professor at IFISC (CSIC-UIB), has been elected Fellow of the International Core Academy of Sciences and Humanities, Class of 2025. This prestigious recognition has been awarded to him “for contributions to mathematical sciences, particularly for developing the mathematical theory of network communicability, and for commitment to advancing knowledge, research and science for the benefit of humanity”.
The International Core Academy of Sciences and Humanities is an independent, not-for-profit scholarly institution and merit-based academy, originally incorporated in Hong Kong. The Academy is committed to supporting international, cutting-edge, and interdisciplinary research across all fields of knowledge; recognizing excellence in science and education, and fostering global scientific advancement and academic cooperation for the benefit of humanity.
The Fellowship of the Academy honors distinguished scholars across sciences and humanities who have made significant and lasting contributions to their fields and to the global advancement of knowledge. Dr. Estrada is among the 33 newly elected Fellows in 2025, whose election reflects their excellence in research and their alignment with the Academy’s mission and values.
Dr. Estrada is a Research Professor at IFISC (CSIC-UIB) since 2021. He has received several academic distinctions, including the Wolfson Research Merit Award of the Royal Society of London, Outstanding Scientist of the International Academy of Mathematical Chemistry, elected Member of the Academia Europaea, of the Latin American Academy of Sciences, elected Fellow of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM), elected Fellow of the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications and Corresponding Member of the Royal Academy of Science of Zaragoza.
