Mohammadreza Mokhtari is a doctoral researcher at IFISC-UIB, and also a member of the European Training Network consortium POST-DIGITAL+. He investigates brain-inspired computing with light, specifically fiber-coupled semiconductor laser networks for fast information processing. His research interests include photonic systems, nonlinear dynamics of semiconductor lasers, optical reservoir computing, neuromorphic photonics and laser networks.
He holds a master’s degree in Optical Telecommunication Engineering from the University of Tabriz, Iran, and a bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering from Urmia University, also in Iran. His previous research was focused on silicon photonics, microring resonator-based optical switches and multilayer optical interconnects.
