IFISC People: Alessandro Sozza

Feb. 1, 2018

IFISC people is a new way to introduce new IFISC members to the rest of the research staff.

We are glad to introduce Alessandro Sozza to the other IFISC members. Alessandro is originally from Turin (Italy), where he completed a Master degree in “Physics of Complex Systems” in 2013 and a PhD in Physics under the supervision of Prof. Guido Boffetta entitled "Transport and diffusion in the ocean turbulence" (2017).

At IFISC he will work as a postdoc researcher with Cristóbal López and Emilio Hernández-García for a year. His research project will study the sedimentation of particles in complex flows with particular attention to the effect of particle inertia. His field of expertise is the performance of direct numerical simulations of Navier-Stokes equations. In particular, his research subject is focused on the statistical properties of turbulence and Lagrangian transport.
