  • This initiative allows an FP Intensiva student to apply their skills in a leading research institute, focusing on web development while gaining hands-on experience in a scientific environment.

The Institute for Cross-Disciplinary Physics and Complex Systems (IFISC, CSIC-UIB) is becoming the first center of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) to host a FP (Formación Profesional) Intensiva student as part of their combined study and work-based learning program. This initiative, achieved through the Cambra de Comerç de Mallorca, a collaborating organization of the Dirección General de Formación Profesional (Conselleria de Educación), reinforces IFISC's commitment to knowledge transfer and the development of new talent, bridging the gap between scientific research and professional training.

Thanks to long-term agreements, FP students can complete the required internships for their FP Intensiva modality at the various research institutes, centers, and units of the CSIC. FP Intensiva is an educational model that combines classroom learning with hands-on experience in a real work environment. The selected student, enrolled in the "Cicle Formatiu de Grau Superior en Desenvolupament d'Aplicacions Multiplataforma" at Colegio Sant Josep Obrer will have the opportunity to apply their knowledge in a research institute specializing in complex systems, engaging in technical tasks and acquiring valuable skills in a highly specialized setting.

"Scientific research increasingly relies on highly skilled technical professionals, and we believe that FP Intensiva is an excellent way to train students in a real-world work environment", explains Emilio Hernández-García, IFISC Director. "We are proud to be pioneers within the CSIC in this regard, and we hope this experience serves as a reference for other research centers".

For the FP Intensiva student in Multiplatform Application Development, this opportunity represents a unique chance to gain hands-on experience in a cutting-edge research environment. Over the next year, at IFISC he will develop multiplatform applications.

This initiative marks a significant step forward in strengthening collaboration between academia and the research sector, opening new doors for vocational students and expanding training opportunities within CSIC.
