Data Analytics Technician

The Institute for Cross-Disciplinary Physics and Complex Systems (IFISC) on Mallorca (Spain) is looking to hire a full-time Data Analytics Technician. IFISC is a joint research institute of the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) and the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) and hosts high-qualified researchers from complex systems science. It was created in 2007 and has recently received the María de Maeztu Unit of Excellence award. Now, IFISC seeks a candidate to support the ambitious development of the Institute in the coming years. The basic required skills are the following:

• Experience in the use of a linux environment
• Fluency in python
• Capacity to communicate in English

And it will be valued the following skills:

• Knowledge on data analysis,
• Experience on the use of machine learning algorithms
• Access to databases (including MongoDB)
• Experience in graphic tools and use of GIS analysis
• Knowledge on other programming languages
• A master or graduate degree in Science or Engineering

We offer a 1-year contract up to December 31st 2021, renewable. The gross annual salary is 30210€, according to the CSIC scales. The contract includes all the benefits of the Spanish Public Health and Social Security system.Applications are welcome until the position is filled.
