Networks arise as natural models of interconnected dynamical elements in a variety of systems, with examples ranging from cell biology to epidemiology to the Internet. A rapid development over the recent years has shown that many of these complex networks share common structural characteristics, such as the small-world and scale-free properties, and that the dynamics of the network is strongly influenced by them. In this talk I will discuss generic structural properties of scale-free networks and explore the interplay between structure and dynamics in the context of synchronization of chaotic oscillators.
