In this talk, I will first describe our recent work of suppressing spatio-temporal lasing instability in a wave-chaotic microcavity or a disordered cavity. Then I will introduce random lasers with low spatial coherence for speckle-free full-field imaging. Finally, I will discuss a fast and efficient method of switching the spatial coherence of a degenerate cavity laser for bimodal microscopy.
