Profile
My main interest is Nonlinear Dynamics in Biophysics and Cell Biology. In particular I am interested in the applications of the theory of dynamical systems to biological problems.

My current (and recent) topics of research in biophysics and cell biology are:

# Pattern Formation (i.e. instabilities, front dynamics, amplitude equations, etc.)
* Modeling of Polarization in Cells (in combination with experiments)
* Dynamics of spiral waves in Glycolysis (in combination with experiments)

# Nonlinear Dynamics (i.e. bifurcations in ODEs and delay-differential equations)
* Nonlinear dynamics of Signaling Networks
* Time-delays on Oscillations in Gene Regulatory Networks
* Inertial effects on the dynamics of hair-bundles in Hearing
* Oscillations of the flight muscle of Insects (in combination with experiments)
* Modeling the regeneration of Hydra (in combination with experiments) (finished)

# Stochastic Processes
* Collective dynamics of cooperative molecular motors (finished)
* Simple models of swarming behavior
