José J. Ramasco appointed new director of IFISC

Since 11th October, IFISC has José J. Ramasco as its new Director. Alongside him, David Sánchez and Roberta Zambrini have been designated as Deputy Directors. José will continue the work of the previous team led by Emilio Hernández-García, who has been at the head of the institute since April 2022.
Dr. Ramasco obtained his BSc and MSc in Physics from the University of Cantabria in 1997, and his PhD from the same institution in 2002. After postdoctoral stays at the University of Porto (Portugal), Emory University (USA), and the ISI Foundation in Turin (Italy), he joined IFISC in Palma de Mallorca, where he is currently a Research Professor at CSIC. His research focuses on applying the tools of complex systems science to the study of human mobility and transport.
