Inscriptions for the first RICE School in Spain double the enrolment planned

March 23, 2016

The first RICE School "New trends in Quantum Information” in Spain has received twice the enrolment that was supposed. It was initially planned a forecast of 25 seats (20 of them with a funding that covers residence and travel expenses) but, at the end, the registrants have been 37 (PhD students and post-doctoral) from different nationalities and from different scientific institutions in Spain, Italy, Portugal, England, Finland and Germany.

The Spanish Network of Quantum Information promotes research in quantum information simulations and technologies, through collaborations within the network and international groups, and the training of scientists in these areas. Amongst the activities, the organization of conferences has been particularly successful with events in Madrid, Zaragoza and Bilbao. This is the reason why this year it has been decided to make one more step and organize the first RICE School.

The RICE School will be held the 11th and 12th of April at IFISC’s premises. The program has 4 thematic realms which consists in a 12 hours formation course, taught by 4 prestigious international lecturers in quantum physics: Andreas Winter (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona), Mari Carmen Bañuls (Max-Planck-Institut für Quantenoptik, Germany), Anna Sanpera (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona) i clog David (University of Zaragoza).
