IFISC People: Johannes Nokkala

April 8, 2019

We are glad to introduce Johannes Nokkala to the other IFISC members. Johannes got his PhD in the University of Turku (Finland) focused in Quantum Complex Networks under the supervision of Professor Sabrina Maniscalco and Adjunct Professor Jyrki Piilo.

At IFISC he will work for a year as a postdoctoral researcher within the project EPheQuCS, Emergent phenomena and decoherence in quantum complex systems. Very recently there have been proposals to do reservoir computing - a relatively new computing paradigm with roots in machine learning with recurrent neural networks - with discrete variable quantum systems. His research is focused on this quantum reservoir computing with an emphasis on its extension to continuous variable case and its experimental implementation.
