In this talk we will discuss the properties of trapped ultra-cold
atomic gases. In particular
the atomic Bose-Einstein condensate will be investigated. An
introduction to the theoretical
machinery which is needed in order to describe these systems will be
presented. Some key
aspects of the trapped atomic cloud will be discussed, such as
superfluidity and nonlinear
dynamics. Some future prospects and current trends for the atomic
gases will also be presented.
