We present a brief review about our recent studies on systems made of
magnetic nanoparticles. In particular
we focus on three different systems: bulky and quasi-2D dipolar-soft
ferrofluids, shifted dipolar particles, and magnetic filaments. Several
theoretical formalisms for the different systems will be presented and
compared to numerical simulations. The insight obtained from those
studies will be thoroughly discussed.
