In this seminar, I will be going through some of the work on quantum computing I did during my time as a PhD student. First, I will give an introduction to quantum circuits and their use in quantum simulation. I will then go through some experiments we performed on IBM’s digital quantum computing hardware. These experiments used quantum circuits to probe questions related to hydrodynamics, chaotic circuit models, and discrete time crystals. Finally, I will go through a collection of experiments we performed to diagnose how bad IBM’s quantum devices are at ‘doing nothing’.
This IFISC Seminar will be broadcasted in the following zoom link: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/89027654460?pwd=Wg9TYMPqqP2ipfj2JVvEagmzaTw29c.1
Coffee and cookies will be served 15 minutes before the start of the seminar
