In this seminar, I will talk about the central issue of aerodynamic design that is the calculation of aerodynamic forces produced by objects in airflows. I will focus on methods developed for wings, from Prandtl\'s Lifting Line theory to more modern methods such as Computational Fluid Dynamics calculations.
