Recent advances in microscopic experiments demonstrated the possibility of implementing a Maxwell Demon in a quantum dot system. Encouraged by these results, we have studied an alternative implementation of the Maxwell demon in quantum Hall system whose edge channels are coupled to a quasilocalized state. In such a system the chirality of transport channels can be used to favor the operation of the magnetic Demon which acts by controlling the direction of the magnetic field according to the charge state of the quasilocalized state. Within a stochastic thermodynamics description we investigate the ability of such a Demon to drive a current against a bias and to cool down a cold reservoir. We show that the ability of the demon to perform is directly related to its ability to extract information from the system.
