Education laws in Spain are continually debated, covering issues like equitable access to education, public versus private schools, curriculum content, and the role of technology. Recent reforms emphasize "key competencies" rather than specific knowledge to prepare students for personal, professional, and societal success, fostering lifelong learning skills. This study delves into how these competencies integrate into the high school curriculum, uncovering a multilayered network where certain skills, especially in linguistic communication and cultural awareness, receive more focus than entrepreneurial and multilingual skills. By analyzing the curriculum's structure and the interplay between subjects based on competency emphasis, three main subject groups emerged: mathematical, cultural expression, and learning skills. Additionally, the study reveals a unique ring-like configuration of competency relationships, offering insights into the competency profiles of different educational pathways. These findings aim to aid the educational community in understanding the integration of key competencies into educational programs.
