MdM Quantum meeting: Hybrid interacting quantum Hall thermal machine

Broadcast soon

In this talk, I will present the investigation of a hybrid quantum thermal machine based on a single closed quantum Hall edge channel forming a quantum dot. The dot is tunneling coupled with two quantum Hall edge states at filling factor \nu=2, which are in contact to reservoirs held at different temperatures and chemical potentials. Additionally, one of the edge channels is driven out of equilibrium by a periodic train of Lorentzian voltage pulses. This setup allows us to explore a variety of operational regimes, including the engine, the heat pump, and the refrigerator configurations. We also identify parameter regions where two regimes can coexist. Moreover, the proposed setup exhibits robustness and in some parameter regions also slightly enhanced performance in the presence of electron-electron interactions.
