Research position in renewable energy analysis and complex systems modeling

We are currently inviting applications from candidates holding a master's degree to contribute to a research project focused on the increasing penetration of renewable energies. The research will encompass analysis, visualization, and modeling pertaining to the expansion of household photovoltaic installations across extensive geographical areas. Successful applicants will actively participate in the analysis of statistical properties derived from empirical data and the subsequent visualization of results.

Moreover, the project entails the development of agent-based models,  makin to those employed in the examination of the propagation of innovation and opinions. As a prerequisite, applicants should possess proficiency in computer programming, particularly in Python or similar languages, familiarity with graphical libraries, and a basic knowledge of agent-based modeling.

The initial contract will span one year, with the possibility of renewal. Salary will be at the level of the FPI contracts for PhD students. The workplace is the Institute for Cross-disciplinary Physics and Complex Systems (IFISC) in Palma de Mallorca and the intended starting date is February 2024.
