A LINC workshop and a meeting of the project supervisory board will be held immediately after the first LINC School (10-12 Sept.) in Palma de Mallorca, Spain.

Venue

The workshop will be held in the same IFSIC premises as the School (Seminars room, basement of IFISC building), in the Campus of the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB), Palma de Mallorca, Spain (see Google map). The island of Mallorca is very well connected with the rest of Spain and Europe with its international "Son Sant Joan" airport (airport code PMI), the only airport on the island of Mallorca. The airport lies 8 kilometers east of Palma. The UIB Campus is located 7.5 km from Palma downtown, and is in the middle of a scenic landscape, and quite close to the mountains in the "Serra de Tramuntana" range.

Most of the Workshop participants are accomodated at Hotel Almudaina, in the center of Palma. The address is  Avenida Jaime III, 9 (or Avinguda Jaume III, 9) - Palma de Mallorca - 07010 - Spain- Phone: +34 971 727 340

You can reach the hotel from the airport by taking the Bus Line 1. The stop at the airport is outside the Airport Arrivals' Hall. There is one bus every 12-15 minutes. Ticket price: 2.50 EUR. There is a bus stop very close to the hotel (Passeig de Mallorca, see map).

The most convenient way to reach the Campus from the hotel is by the subway (metro), at its start station at Plaça d'Espanya (marked as Estació Intermodal in the above map and in Metro ticket machines). The final station is the campus of the UIB. Frequency is every 15 minutes. Trip time is 13 minutes. Price is 1.5 euros (keep the ticket until the end because it is neaded to exit the station). Walking distance from Hotel Almudaina to Plaça d'Espanya is 15-20 minutes (slightly above 1km).

You can also take in the same Plaça d'Espanya the bus number 19 to the UIB campus (leave at the first stop in the campus). Frequency is one every 15-20 minutes, but trip duration is about twice that.

You can also take a taxi from Palma to the UIB campus. IFISC building is the "chocolate color" building just to the left of the campus entrance (if you come by metro, it is nearly in front of the station, but hidden behind 'Mateu Orfila' Building, see map). Most of the School sessions, and the Workshop, will be held in the Seminars Room, basement level. IFISC administration is in floor 2.
