High Performance Computing in the New Nuredduna

nuredduna has been upgraded, financed by project FISICOS, with an IBM iDataPlex system including 48 dx360M4 nodes. Each node has 2 hexacore Xeon E5-2630 processors with state-of-the art Sandy Bridge EP architecture running at 2.3GHz. 36 of the nodes has 32Gb of memory and 12 64Gb. The software configuration has also been upgraded including a new front end and a new queuing system.

This talk is intended to describe the new configuration and to provide guidelines on the efficient use for intensive numerical calculations.
