Predictive inference and material world in cognitive processes

This seminar will present the XSCAPE-Material Minds project, an ERC-SyG funded research studying the interaction between Predictive Brains, Cultural Artefacts and Embodied Visual Search. The seminar will focus on the active inference model (mainly advocated by Friston and Clark) and predictive processing as means to study how the mind understands the world through anticipatory reactions. In particular, the contributions that the Material Minds project is making to complete and extend this model will be presented.
