Constructive effects of squeezing in loop-based quantum photonic architectures for quantum reservoir computing

MdM Quantum Meeting

Squeezing (field fluctuations below shot noise) is a quantum phenomenon that has proven to be key to several quantum technologies. In this talk, we will introduce quantum reservoir computing (QRC) based on an optical platform with a cavity to guarantee the presence of memory. We have studied the benefits of squeezing provided by a nonlinear crystal inside the cavity for time series processing. Concretely, we show that increasing the squeezing improves the reservoir robustness to readout noise. This enhances its accessible memory, which increases the performance in several benchmark tasks.
