Dr. Argyris holds a research associate position in IFISC, under an EU H2020 Marie-Skłodowska Curie fellowship. His fields of expertise and interests include: nonlinear dynamics in photonics, optical communication systems and encryption techniques, physical random number generation, complex dynamics in coupled physical systems, optical sensing, photonic reservoir computing and data post-processing techniques. He has participated in 6 National and 6 European research projects. His work appears in more than 80 publications (more than 2350 citations, Google scholar) in international journals and conference proceedings. He is also the main author of 3 book chapters. In 2006, he was distinguished as one of the "World’s Top Young Innovators 2006” by receiving the “TR35 Award” from the Technology Review magazine of Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In the same year he was awarded the "Ericsson Award of Excellence in Telecommunications" for  his PhD thesis, in the South-East Europe region.
