Exploring the Complexity of the Microbial World

Miguel Angel Muñoz

Profesor at the uiversity of Granada

In this talk, I will provide a brief overview of the intricacies and challenges involved in understanding the complex behavior exhibited by networks of microorganisms, or microbiomes, which have significant implications for nearly every aspect of life. Additionally, I will discuss two recent studies conducted by our group, which underscore the importance of interactions and the emergence of non-trivial correlations among microbial species. Despite recent progress, numerous open questions remain, making the study of microbial complexity an ongoing frontier in the field of complexity science.
