Abstract: Recent years have demonstrated an enormous progress in single molecule biophysics, with optical tweezers as one of the favourite tools. For appropriate experimental parameters it is harmless to living systems and can be applied to monitor or manipulate organelles within, e.g., live S. pombe cells. In the talk, the prospect for such experiments and the need for good models and tools of data analysis will be discussed.
