In order to validate the suitability of the flux cell model for Saccharomyces cerevisiae previouslydescribed to predict potential outcomes of mammalian drug metabolism, 1 experiments were conducted using male wistar rats to determine the absorption rate constants k of several -ketoesters serving as model pharmaceutically active compounds with different functional groups. The samples were obtained by using the intestinal closed loop perfussion technique developed by Dolusio et al2. Analysing of the samples was performed by LC-MS/MS.
