Abstract:
In this 2.5 hours course we will introduce the students to the construction and analysis of silicon cell models. Silicon cell models are kinetic models based on experimentally measured biochemical reaction network topology and kinetic parameters. During the course the students will be briefly introduced to enzyme kinetics, kinetic models, some of their principles, and metabolic control analysis. Using the JWS online modeling database the students will learn how to analyze silicon cell models to answer questions relevant for optimization of product formation in biotechnology and drug design in medicine.
