CSIC awards a research carried out at IFISC by a young researcher
Hector Vaquero was awarded best research report in the
XXXII competition “Jóvenes Investigadores” organized by the Ministry of
Universities and the Instituto de Juventud (INJUVE). His work, entitled “Desarrollo y aplicaciones de redes
neuronales artificiales”, was developed at IFISC in 2021 and supervised by researchers
Roberta Zambrini and Miguel C. Soriano.
The stay took place within the contest, which awarded
the best research work carried out by students of ESO, Bachillerato and Formación
Profesional from all over Spain. Héctor won the stay at IFISC with his work "Machine learning y huella dactilar para el
diagnóstico de la enfermedad celíaca", coordinated by Blanca López and
Cristina Jiménez.

IFISC researcher wins an Asociación Física Argentina award for her PhD Thesis
IFISC postdoctoral researcher Lucía Ramírez was awarded Best PhD Thesis in Theoretical Physics in Argentina
2019-2020 in the Premio Juan José Giambiagi 2021, a competition organized by
the Asociación Física Argentina. Her PhD thesis was entitled “Caracterización
de los procesos de deposición-remoción de objetos extendidos sobre redes de
nodos conectados: Efectos de la naturaleza de la red y de la estructura de los
objetos sobre el comportamiento crítico del sistema” and directed by Dr.
Paulo Marcelo Centres and defended at the Universidad de San Luis.”.
The award, intended to recognize
outstanding work in the completion and approval in Argentina of a doctoral
thesis in physics, highlights Lucia's work in her thesis with a strong
potential application in the area of surface physic-chemistry, networks, as well
